Vijayawada – Guntur


          Vijayawada and Guntur are like twin cities and are located on either side of Krishna river. They are the headquarters of Krishna and Guntur districts respectively.


          Vijayawada literally meaning “The Place of Victory” is also known as “Bezawada” due blazing heat in summer. Its prominence as a major trading and business centre has earned it the title of “The business capital of Andhra Pradesh”.


          Guntur, an ancient city founded by the French, is a important commercial centre known for its rice and oil mills, cotton and tobacco curing barns.


          Both cities are major educational hubs for budding students forming the – “The Educational Sahara” of Andhra Pradesh.
