Performance in 13th Dr. NTR UHS Inter Collegiate Games & Sports meet Men – 2009 from 11.11.2009 to 15.11.2009 held at Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam. Our College Volleyball team led by highly talented skillful player Mr. K. Santosh Krishna and ably supported by Mr. N. Anvesh, Mr. G. Shyam Kishore Babu, Mr. Y. V. S. Vinodh, Mr. D. A. Manikanteswara Rao, Mr. P. Sandeep Kumar, Mr. Nilesh Ranjan, Mr. L. Srinu, Mr. N. Abhiram, Mr. V. Jagan Mohan Rao and Mr. K. Naga Satish won the championship shield 4th time.
More talented Basket Ball team led by highly skilled players Mr. K. Akarsh and ably supported by talented players Mr. K. Santosh Krishna, Mr. G. Shyam Kishore Babu, Mr. J. Abhiram, Mr. V. Vijay Sai, Mr. Y. Mohan, Mr. B. Rio, Mr. K. Sudhakar Reddy, Mr. N. Anvesh, Mr. P. Sandeep and Mr. B.Bharat Vamsi, unfortunately became runners up.
Our Chess team led by Mr. Praveen Naik ably supported by K. Sasikanth Reddy,Mr. J. Vijaya Krishna, Mr. M. Raghunath, Mr. K. Koteswara Rao, Mr. J. Venkatesh, Mr. M. Prudvi and Mr. V. Vijaya Sri won the third place. But Third place in games is not considered for over all championship.
Our college athletes proved their prowess and won the individual athletic championship and team championship with more number of points which contributed to won the overall championship at 13th Dr. NTR UHS Inter Collegiate Games and Sports meet for Men 2009. Special mention shall be made that Mr. K. Santosh Krishna won the fist place in 100 mts sprint, 200 mts sprint and Discus throw. Second place in Long Jump & Shot Put and won the individual athletic championship 4th time. Almost equally talented Mr. Y. Mohan won the first place in 400 mts, 800 mts, 1500 mts., Second place in 5000 mts run and further helped in winning first place in 4 x 400 mts relay along with Mr. U. Sudhakar Babu, Mr. K. Sasikanth Reddy and Mr. R. Vikash Babu and third place in 4 x 100 mts relay along with Mr. U. Sudhkar Babu, Y. V. S. Vinod and Mr. R. Vikash Babu. Mr. P. V. Suresh won the third place in Discus throw.
All other teams played well but we need more practice to win
The Management, Dr. Raju N. Mantena, Secretary, NRI AS, The great sportsmen himself, Dr. K. Anji Reddy, Dean, Dr. N.V.S.Chowdary, Principal, , Dr. K. Butchi Babu, Medical Superintendent, Dr. G. V. Nagi Reddy, Vice-Principal, staff and students are encouraging the sports in NRI MC very well.
